Stuart Howard, Architects Inc., was started in 1977 as Stuart Howard Architect. The firm maintains its office in a renovated building (of its own design) in Vancouver’s Yaletown district. Most projects undertaken by the firm are situated in the greater Vancouver area. However, commissions have also been designed and built in Whistler, coastal British Columbia, the United States, and the Caribbean. The firm’s principal, Stuart Howard, is also licensed to practice in Washington State and California.

Stuart Howard Architects is committed to developing high quality, cost-effective, innovative design solutions for its clients. Over the years, the practice has been involved in many building types with a strong area of emphasis on residential buildings and Heritage restoration and rehabilitation. Stuart Howard Architects has completed many successful multiple family and single family projects. The various members of the firm are multiple award winners in residential design and Heritage adaptive re-use and restoration work.

The firm has stressed user participation, neighbourhood involvement, and quality design throughout its 25 year history. Designs are undertaken in the office with a team approach, with input from all members of the firm and participation in the process by the client, user group.
