Elevation of New Bedroom over Garage Addition

This large house is situated in Vancouver's Shaughnessy District. The residence was listed on the City's inventory of heritage buildings; having been constructed around 1910. The structure of the building was sound but its finishes had deteriorated over the years. Also, the interior plan of the house required some changes to accomodate a young family.

The scope of the work called for the demolition of an attached garage on the north side of the house. The garage was an unsympathetic addition to the main building and was in a state of disrepair. The new addition incorporated a new master bedroom and ensuite over the double car garage.

The finished construction received a Heritage Award from the City of Vancouver.
