Heritage Building conversion with new townhouses

Two old abandoned single family dwellings existed on these two RT-8 zoned Vancouver site prior to redevelopment. One of the houses, a seventy-five year old Craftsman style building was of "Heritage" quality. This building was retained and completely renovated into two residential units in a front-back configuration. An "infill" coach house was added in the rear yard of this rehabilitated heritage structure.

On the adjacent property to the east a new four unit residential building is situated over an underground parking garage that serves the entire development (14 cars/2 per unit). This new buildings' massing, roof form and detailing references the architecture of the heritage building to the west. The development permit process for this project involved negotiations of bonus floor space for the development based on the retention/ multiconversion of the heritage structure.
